Wee Gallery was conceived by Surya, a graphic designer, and Dave, a teacher.
When their son, Siddu, was born they read everything to do with babies, from how to interpret babies' cries to changing their nappies. They learned that newborns can only see 12 to 15 inches away and that they are most taken with their parent's faces and black and white geometric figures. Experimenting with the latter idea, the Wee Gallery art cards were born.
As Siddu got older the animals on the cards continued to entertain him. As his motor-skills developed he would grab the cards and look at them. When Surya and Dave told him stories for each animal he would listen and look, turn the card and turn it again. As he approached a year old he would carry them around and give the cards to his parents, asking for a story.
Siddu is now a teenager and has a sister, Anya. Wee Gallery continues to create beautiful products for babies across the world.
